Past Masters, Grand Lodge Officers, Warden & Brothers; Good Evening! ̊

 I greet you in the name of the “Great Architect of the Universe!” It is truly an honor and a privilege to be elected as your “40th” Worshipful Master of The Mighty Grier Heights Lodge No. 752; for the 2025 Masonic year. My ascension to the East by no means was the way I imagined or hoped, but I realize that out of chaos comes order! It is this order which I hope to bring to our beloved lodge. I am humbled and excited to be supported by such a phenomenal administration and knowledgeable Past Masters.

               As speculative builders, we have lost our way in so many things by forgetting some of the most fundamental things taught to us by our operative brothers. We have forgotten that as builders we must maintain our standards of excellence and that our work is representative of ourselves, our lodge, and our attempt to please our deity. Therefore, it is essential to ensure you hold me accountable in having a well-drawn trestle board to give you proper instruction in your labor; just as much as I am going to hold you accountable to the work on the trestle board. But I as your leader must also ensure you are equipped with the proper tools and taught when and how to use those tools. I must invest in you as an individual.

In 2025, we will invest in you by continuously FEEDING you; We will FEED your Spirit by giving you a haven from the world’s temptations and concerns. We will feed you emotionally by providing you with brotherly love and guidance outside of Masonic teachings. We will feed you Masonicaly by providing you thorough lectures, question and answer sessions, books, supplemental videos, constantly challenging you to understand the esoteric as well as the exoteric. We will feed you mentally by providing consultation from certified individuals to assist us in the day to day of just being men. We will feed you financially by bringing consultants and advisers in to talk through investments, credit, small business, lending, mortgages and etc. We will feed you physically by providing you with hot meals as you give us the most precious gift, which is your time. If I want you to give your best, you must be at your best!

               As such, we must ensure what we are building and what we have built is the best! We will ensure each stone we use going forward is square, plumb, and level. We will no longer be afraid to tear down those edifices or other things that need to be rebuilt. Every builder has had to humble himself and tear down a structure that did not meet the standard and start again; So, shall we, my brothers. We will evaluate our membership intake process,  engagement, retention, reclamation, administrative processes, financial processes, Lodge norms, Lodge teachings, current training, community involvement, leadership preparation, short term goals, long term goals and our by-laws! “Brick by Brick.”  We will build this temple that will withstand generations to come and be the beacon of light that we say it is. We will demonstrate what Freemasonry in men who are in action versus the inaction of men in Freemasonry. We are a “WORKING” Lodge.

Our success in the coming year will be a process. So, trust me as you have before, and we will see the fruits of our labors. Our success will be built upon those things mentioned above and continue to stand on our steady foundation of Accountability, Innovation, Fiscal Responsibility, Truth, Transparency, Service (In and out of Masonry), and Leadership. By embracing these principles along with the work, we have planned we will ensure that Grier Heights remains a beacon of excellence for years to come.
