A lodge so nice; we named it twice!
Through the dedication and zeal of “14” founding members was a charter issued in 1949 to the Eastover Lodge to meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at the Grier Heights Presbyterian Church located in the Grier Heights Community (325 Skyland Avenue, Charlotte, N.C.) by the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of North Carolina. Through those “14” founding members and others was this lodge able to promote the spirit of HUMANITY, FRIENDSHIP, LOVE, TRUTH and ACTIVE participation in Free Masonry.
One year later the Lodge was granted a name change to Grier Heights Lodge No. 752; an affiliate of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masonis of North Carolina. At this time the meeting location had been moved to the Masonic Hall off (South Brevard Street in Charlotte, N.C.). Here the lodge began to grow by focusing on faith in GOD and man, the deed of brotherly love and our obligations to assist distressed worthy master masons, their widows and orphans. In need of more space, in 1978, the lodge joined its 19th district brother lodge Unique Lodge No. 85 at (2101 Newland Rd. Charlotte, N.C.)
Needing something for our wives and daughters, Amaranth No. 663 (OES) was chartered as a member of the 14th district under Grier Heights Lodge No. 752 by the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of North Carolina, Prince Hall Affiliated. To once again bring our family into the fold the second chapter of Knights of Pythagoras, Grier Heights Council No. 61 of the Knights of Pythagoras was organized in the 19th district in 1982 under Grier Heights Lodge No. 752.
Member of the 19th district in 1978.
Member of the 32nd district in 1994.
Member of the 28th district in 2024.
